CROP – Mr. Lillard – 232

What is CROP: It is a student organization sponsored by Florida Gulf Coast University. The title is College Reach Out Program.

What is the purpose of CROP: To inspire students to be engaged in preparing for high school and college success.

When does it meet: It meets Tuesdays from 1:45 to 3:30 pm. Students must have a ride home from school after meetings.

Where: In room 232, Mr. Lillard’s Room

Why should I join: We take field trips on campus to FGCU to experience a small part of the college life. There are support teams and people affiliated with the university who are at our disposal.

How do I apply for CROPs: There is an application which will be posted Google classroom after the first week of school. You may also secure an application from room 232. Students are selected based on their need to improve their gpa and testing scores.

When is the first meeting: The first meeting will be August 15 in Room 232. It will begin and end promptly at 1:45 pm and end promptly at 3:30 pm.

All students are welcomed to apply. Returning students will also be required to apply as a continuing member. Please see Mr. Lillard in room 232 or email [email protected] for further information.

  

Diamond Dolls – Ms. Wardlow - Athletics 

East Lee Diamond Dolls Majorette Team is a form of majorette dance with talent in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and technique. Tryouts on August 18th and clinics on the 15th, 16th and 17th MUST attend all dates to tryout. 

 

FBLA– Mr. Praegitzer –TV Production Room

FBLA MISSION: FBLA inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences. We will have our first meeting Thursday, August 17, from 1:45 to 2:30. Students will need to make arrangements for transportation. We will meet either the first and last Thursday of the month, or every other Thursday, depending on student needs.

 

FFA – Mr. Faatz – 147

Welcome to the Agriculture and Natural Resources Club. Our club will meet on Thursdays August 24th from 2:30 to 4:30 and will concentrate on improving the school by growing and building things to make our lives better and more beautiful. Flowers, Trees, shrubs, raised and in ground projects and equipment and outdoor sports, and photography will be our focus, and if enough participation we may add animals as well via the FFA and starting a new chapter at our school.  Our Google Classroom is qwtvv3f

– Goals and Purposes
The goals and purposes of this program shall be to:
Section A. Strive to inspire competent young men and women to consider teaching as a career.
Section B. Provide members with knowledge and experiences that develop qualities and aptitudes essential to successful teaching.
Section C. Offer pre-teaching experiences that are both exploratory and developmental in nature. 
Section D. Provide information on professional career opportunities in education and the special competencies required.
Section E. Develop an appreciation of public education and the contributions that have been made by teachers, public schools, colleges and universities, teacher unions, and other professional organizations to American society.
Section F. Encourage members to exercise their rights and privileges as citizens and to participate and accept leadership in civic affairs.

Our 1st meeting will be Wednesday, August 23rd.

Basic description of our GSA is student-led and student-organized school club that aims to create a safe, welcoming, and accepting school environment for all youth, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Plans for this year will not be defined until we start meeting.

 

HOSA – Mrs. Coker – 288

HOSA is a student lead national club. It is made up of Health Occupational Students of America (as its name implies), and its purpose is to develop future health care providers.

The club typically meets every 3-4 weeks, after school until 3:00. Parent pick-up is at 3:00. Students may go to other clubs after HOSA, but I will not stay for the activity bus.

Students may participate in the local HOSA Regional Event and compete in various Medical Skills. Students who place first, second or third may choose to attend the State Leadership Conference where they may compete at the State level.

Anyone in the Medical Academy may attend and join HOSA.

The basic description of The Interact Club is it is a service and social club that elect students as leaders. The club is sponsored by the Lehigh Acres Rotary Club which guides the Interactors in developing local and International service projects. Interact derives its name from the word International and action reflecting the nature of an organization that exists in 110 countries and promotes active service at home and abroad. Interact provides a powerful force of youthful enthusiasm and energetic service.

Our meetings are on Thursday’s this year from 1:45- 3:00 in room 1252C. Our first meeting will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Key Club Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.
